Christ Candle: The Light Has Come
John 1:9-12
“9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—”
On this night all waiting leads here — to wonder. The promise is fulfilled. The Light we’ve longed for has come—not as a king in power, but as a child in humility. Every candle we’ve lit, every prayer we’ve whispered, every hope we’ve held—it all points to this truth: God has come near.
The world may still feel dark, but the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it. Tonight, we don’t just celebrate a story from long ago—we welcome the same Jesus into the quiet spaces of our hearts. Emmanuel — God with us — is still with us.
